Coaching Skills Training for Managers

Managers who coach build capability. Managers who solve build dependency. This programme moves the default.

The problem we are solving

Most managers were promoted for being good at solving problems, so when a team member brings one, they solve it. It is faster today and expensive every day after.

Coaching is usually taught as a model and forgotten in a week because nobody practised it under real pressure with a real person.

About this program

A coaching skills training programme for managers who solve problems their team should be solving. Participants learn a simple coaching structure, better questions and when to coach rather than direct.

It works well as a follow-on to first-time manager training, and is customised to your performance and development conversations.

What changes in behaviour

  • Recognise when to coach and when to direct
  • Run a coaching conversation inside twenty minutes
  • Ask questions that open thinking rather than lead it
  • Agree development actions people actually own
  • Coach performance issues without softening the message

Questions

Before you scope this.

Leadership Development
Do participants coach real issues?
Yes. They coach each other on live work situations, which is the only way the skill transfers.
Next step

Start with one cohort. Judge the behaviour change.

Most engagements begin as a single pilot cohort, so your team can evaluate the facilitation and the follow-through before a wider rollout.
